The whole picture of how we became tops and won!
My boss has been very nice and when she got the news that only selected people get to go for the dinner, she insisted the department should go! She got me and Lydia into her room and explained the whole scenario which she went through with the so-called management. Just because of my designation, I don't qualify. Lydia requested that I go as I was the main one who oversee the submissions requirement (as they claimed) for the competition. Other departments who were present has one or at most two representatives. HELLO??!? What are their purpose of being there? They made absolute ZERO contribution!
What we did recently was submit to STB to run for an award. There are even those who were reluctant to furnish us with information for the compilations. Not to say assist us in doing our job, for the company. I have to thank the designers as they tolerated my quest for distinction when it comes to visual presentations. All visuals collated, writings being vetted, figures extracted, compilation and entry forms filled, I personally delivered our submissions to Elaine. Without us completing these submissions, we would could have not won. Thanks to Shu Fang too when she was here.
We were very sure to win this as there are only a handful in this MICE industry. The hoteliers are something as they came up as finalists too. But we won of course!
We won two awards! I wouldn't name the event or the titles we won to avoid being
tagged. I thank my boss earlier as it meant so much to be invloved from the campaign, the campaign ad, the enquiry and media clippings to the compilation and submissions. The gala event last nite to top it all off.
Now we have to come up with something soon to run for next year's or future competitions.
